About Me

Who I am:

I choose to remain anonymous so that my background will not limit your perception of my words via labels, stereotypes, and categories. However I do wish to issue a disclaimer about who I am:

    I am not 100% happy nor 100% at peace or perfect as you may have guessed from my writings. In fact I'm far from it. I don't want to be an example for anyone to follow nor do I claim to be worthy of being a role model. My purpose is only to spread the messages and lessons that have added happiness, meaning, and peace to my life. Take my words at face value, and try not to associate them with who I am as a person. My spiritual life, and faith, and my flaws and shortcomings are personal to me, and have nothing to do with how the lessons can be applied to YOUR life. So please don't place any expectations of me to be "good" if you do know me, because I don't want to attempt to be a public figure or role model. I just want to help people from my own experiences and sell them on the idea of having God as part of their life because I am so grateful for all that He/She has done for me! But I'm just an average person who has stumbled upon a path to and source of happiness, and I want to share this blessing with others, because that is one of the basic principles of love and happiness: the more you share your love and happiness, the more you will get back. 

My Motives:

You may wonder why I created this website. I believe in being totally transparent and upfront about all your motives in order to gain the trust of the reader because it makes me feel good to be open and honest. I often ask myself this same question when I'm reading other websites or magazines or books and always appreciate it when people are honest about their motives, so I want to share this information with you.

    This website has many purposes and I have had many motives in having created it. When I started out, I had three goals in mind. 1-The main purpose was to generate income through advertising. 2-I also figured that I was indebted to God to share is message so I decided to make a website about God. 3-Enjoyment and passion: I enjoy writing as a form of self expression and I have passion for helping and teaching others. Additionally, you may realize from my numerous recommendations that I really love self-help books, spiritual growth, and self development.  After adding a few pages to the website, however, I became quickly bored with the money-focus and feeling of obligation (and didn't think this website would actually lead to any profits) and  started a few other websites which took most of my attention because they seemed to have more potential for income (in addition to being about other topics that I enjoyed). I continued to write in this website whenever I got inspired, however, and realized that writing for other people is therapeutic for me.  I found out that by giving advice to others I am able to think through problems and come up with solutions that I may not have thought of when writing only to myself (e.g. in a journal). In fact, a lot of the time when I have a problem, I end up just dwelling on it, avoiding it, or feeling helpless about it. Even if I take the time to write in my journal, I usually just vent and then got lazy or forget about finding real solutions, and just moved on to complain about the next problem. When writing for others, however, if I challenge myself to tell them how to solve the problem (which is usually a problem that I'm facing myself), it ends up being so much more fun and easy and I end up giving practical and useful advice. I end up solving my own problems because I convince myself that there is a solution out there, figure out what it is, explain how to execute it, and in the process sell myself on the  solution and give myself hope! In this way, I am really helping myself develop while helping others, and having fun. After writing a few such articles based on the problems I was having myself, I've decided to take all my problems to this website and write solutions rather than dwelling on them and complaining in my journal! So most of the writings you see here are things that I struggle or have struggled with before. I realized also that it's a scary thing to put your most personal problems out there on the internet even if you are solving them, but the idea of being anonymous has given me the courage to write boldly. In addition, I have also been inspired by Joyce Meyer, a Christian author who uses her struggles and life-lessons to help others. And she has no shame or reservations about admitting to her problems even though she experienced one of the most shameful and taboo forms of abuse imaginable (sexual abuse). So I pray that my words will help others as well as myself, and that I continue to have the courage to be open on this site. 

    If you are interested about how this website is supposed to make money, here is some info to satisfy your curiosity. Most of the links that you see in this website (besides internal links) lead to for-profit website, that if you buy from using my link within a certain number of days, I will earn a commission. There are also Google ads which pays a few cents per click (not sale-based). Some of the links and products I have taken the time to promote and explain (such as books), others I simply put the banners up to see if they catch your eye. In either case, I don't fabricate or embellish my use of or opinion of the products or websites. If I write something about a particular book, link, website, or product, you can be sure that I have tried it and truly believe in it. For example, the Buddhism pages has a banner for a Buddhism merchandise store. You will notice that I don't t say  anywhere in the page "I love products from BuddhaGroove.com" because I've never purchased anything there, but if you like the image on the banner and choose to click on it to check out the merchandise, I would be very grateful. The WebNode website builder recommendation and my book recommendations on the other hand, are a different story. I have talked extensively about many book (and other producs) that you can purchase from the given links because I have read and sincerely recommend these books. These books are truly the basis of most of my spiritual growth and education in the world of self-help. Every book I discuss is one that I have read and enjoyed and recommend. The ones that I didn't enjoy or don't recommend (of which there have been many, although I've learned to be more "choosy" by reading reviews before buying them), I end up forgetting about and not mentioning, although I soon plan to start writing reviews on self-help books in that section (coming soon). The books that I loved and recommend (which are many) are ones that I quote and base my writing on. I've been reading self-help books since I was in middle school and listening to audio books since I discovered them for free at the library in 2006, although lately I have switched almost entirely to audio books and in some cases e-books. My first self-help book, if you are interested to know, was "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. I think I owe most of my social life to this book but I'm not going to discuss that topic right now! If this site was completely not for profit, or if I couldn't find an affiliate program to promote the books, I still would not change any of the content because promoting these books (especially audio books) is what I've been since I started reading self-help books. I am constantly recommending books and methods and ideas to friends and family although most of the time I realize that my words are lost on those who don't want help. Maybe 1% of my motivational speaking will get through to them, but the rest pretty much feels like I'm preaching and giving help when it's not wanted. So it feels great for me to know that there are people out there who will seek out and read my advice without me having to force it on them!  So logically it's about time I start profiting from promoting books so much and buying them as gifts for friends and family. So I hope you enjoy some of my recommendations and I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
